Our event at The Service Depot in Wellington went really well, here are some shots of the set up. We had customized decorations made for us by Confetti System, a beautiful window illustrated by Xanthe of Oh My and pyramid shaped glass cabinets.

While we were in Melbourne Greg's obssesion with the amazing artist Dylan Martorell got a lot stronger. He bought a few things over there and I just purchased the top image for Greg. I'm sure this will only lead to more!

EAT LOVE, we just got this great book by 'eating designer' Marije Vogelzang. We have had this book marked for about a year and then found it today in Floatsam & Jetsam. I highly recommend it for an interesting view and beautiful presentation of food.

Here is the blurb about it...

After her graduation from the Design Academy in Eindhoven in 2000 Marije Vogelzang has been designing eating concepts. Her interest is in the verb ‘to eat’. Not only does she think deeply about what is on the plate (if there is a plate at all), but she also thinks about everything that surrounds the act of eating. The atmosphere, the people involved, the stories behind the ingredients, the taste and texture, sound, smell and colour of food and the way it is prepared and served. She explores the intimacy of design that actually goes inside your body and follows the journey of food from seed all the way to poop.
Thinking about all this and working and experimenting in her studio and restaurant and by creating eating experiences for her clients she has developed her own unique way of looking at eating from a psychological, cultural and design point of view.

I can never get over how fricken cool this stuff is by Natalia Brilli. It's all covered in leather!!! Once upon a time I went to Belgium, it was creepy, maybe that's why all the best things seem to come from there? C

We are total suckers for black and white illustration especially when it involves typography. Check out this amazing work. The first two images are by Becky Bolton and Louise Chappell and the last image is by Daren Newman.

It's not often we come across jewellery we like by other designers but I am in absolute awe over this. 'Roaring Cloud' necklace made from human hair, silk, lacquer and porcelain by Designer Aoi Kotsuhiroi. To die for. C

One of the coolest ideas I have come across is shoot the messenger from Aubrey Trinnaman. I got one for Greg's birthday and it was awesome, you basically let her know what you are into and she will make a piece of art and it will be posted to your chosen person with a message from you.
